NRN Scientific Advisory Board

The Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) has been a very useful platform to discuss the vision and direction planned for the NRN Advanced Engineering and Materials.

Initially the SAB was informed about the Welsh specific R&D needs for new research and development through a road mapping exercise.  Following on from this there have been annual meetings which have provided a two way sounding board to glean the advice from a wide audience made up of Academics Industrialists and Funders. The SAB has since given direction and feedback to the NRN through annual workshops.

Specific outcomes have been to engage directly with SAB member companies, liaise on funding opportunities and for academics to network with industrialists.

This has provided the opportunity to communicate the benefits achieved by the network as well as to promote the NRN Academic projects.  These outcomes will be used to potentially shape future Welsh Government R&D grants.
